With growing clamour over the NEETUG 2022 exam, in a new development the India Wide Parents Association (IWPA) a specialized parent body for child specific issues has written the Prime Minister of India urging him to delay the NEET exam by 40-45 days. The association pointed out that since the academic session for the current batch will only commence in Feb 2023, what is the need to have the exam in such a rush. Given the overlap with CUET, JEE & CBSE boards, students are facing increasing pressure and finding it hard to cope with their studies.
Many students have written to NTA
(National Testing Authority), the body charged with conducting the exam but are
yet to receive any response. Students have clearly voiced their concern that it
is almost impossible to complete and revise 98 chapters in such a short time
frame. There have been multiple campaigns across social media to bring
attention to the issue, the hashtags #delayNEETUG, #postponeNEETUG
#JusticeforNEETUG have been trending on Twitter (more than 14 lakh tweets had
been posted on this topic)
