Mechanical engineering is the design
and manufacture of machines. Mechanical engineers are responsible for the
design, testing, and operation of these machines. Mechanical engineering is a
very broad field that covers all aspects of designing, building, and managing
machines. It includes work on engines and power plants, air conditioners and
refrigerators, robotics, nuclear reactors-the list goes on. The mechanical
engineering profession has been around since the mid-1800s when it was first

What Are the Types Of Degrees Within
Mechanical Engineering?
A bachelor's degree is the most
common type of degree and is normally taken over four years. It can be offered
in a wide range of subjects from management to engineering, from arts to
sciences. Bachelor’s degrees are a good way for students to explore their
interests and get a taste of different majors before committing to one.
A master’s degree takes at least two
years of study and is typically more focused on research than on teaching.
These degrees are often offered in fields such as business, education,
engineering or health care. They are most often pursued by people who want to
teach at the college level or pursue research in their field.
A doctorate is the highest level of
