NEET UG 2022 UPDATE: Aspirants To Go On Hunger Strike Today! Thousands Demand Meeting With PM Modi

This year’s NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test) has been nothing short of a thriller movie. With 18.7 lac registrations it has seen the largest number of applicants since its inception and is set to become one of the largest competitive exams in the country. There have been several requests from students to postpone the exam by 40-50 days owing to its proximity with other exams (CUET, JEE Mains, CBSE Boards). Students have been persistently demanding authorities to delay the exam given that the previous year counselling was still ongoing, and students were left with very little time to prepare.

Several online campaigns were launched (#modijideferneetug, #justiceforneetug) the latest one is #NEETUGchaloMODIJIAwas. Students are demanding that they get a meeting with the Prime Minister of the country and will go on a hunger strike starting today (5th July 2022).

Key Reasons for NEET UG 2022 Deferment

·         CBSE 12th Board Exams ended on June 15th leaving only 1 month to prepare for the NEET

·         NEET 2021 counselling ended in May 2022. This had implications on candidates who decided to take a drop year to prepare

·         Date overlaps with the CUET UG exam

·         Date proximity with the JEE Mains Exam
