The CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) board exams for class 10th & 12th saw 21 lac & 15 lac enrolments respectively this year and are set to end soon. The written format of the exams was something new this year and the board will be checking answer scripts after a gap of 2 years. The board will be announcing special conditions / provisions for checking to ensure fair and agile checking this year.
The board has setup several measures for checking this year
1.
Higher number of evaluation centres for checking
this year
2.
More number of copies to be checked per day
3.
More teachers to be involved in the checking
process
4.
Structured teams at each evaluation centre
consisting of nodal officers, head examiners, additional heads, evaluators, and
coordinators
5.
Colour coding of question sets to ensure
fairness of checking (e.g., colour red could be the code for set 1 and
coordinator assigned to the colour would be checking that set)
6.
Rechecking by evaluators post preliminary check
by coordinators to burb calculation errors
7.
Limited evaluation time to check each subject to
ensure timely checking and evaluation
8.
Term 2 results will be the cumulative score of
the first 2 terms as well as the internal assessment (weightages for the same
to be declared by the board)
Students have been requesting the board to give maximum
weightage to the internal assessment and least to the term 1 exams owing to
possible instances of cheating / malpractices (as alleged by students)
