Expect High Competition in NEET UG This Year: NEET UG Registrations Cross The 18 Lakh Mark

 The National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) or NEET UG has crossed all records of registrations this year, crossing the 1.8 million (18 lakh) mark. This number is 2.57 lakh higher than last year (an increase of ~16%).

·         10.64 Lakh Female Candidates, 8.07 Lakh Male Candidates

·         Top 5 States: Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka

·         7.8 Lakh OBC-NCL Registration, 5.7 Lakh General Registrations, 2.7 Lakh SC Registrations, 1.3 Lakh General EWS Registrations, 1.13 Lakh ST Registrations, 6430 PWD Registrations

·         Total Seats Up for Grabs

o   MBBS – 91K

o   AYUSH – 51K

o   BDS – 26K

·         Gujrati, Bengali & Tamil emerge as the most popular language mediums (excluding English & Hindi). There is a ~240% increase in the number of candidates taking the exam in the 12 regional languages in the last 5 years (with Tamil seeing the largest spike of 60% Year on Year)

·         The most opted cities to take the exam are Kota, Patna & Jaipur

The correction window for the exam closed on 27^th May. The NTA will not be accepting any changes in Personal Details, Place of Birth, Medium, Choice of Center, Academic Details etc. post this deadline.
