Best Strategy To Give JEE Mains 2022 Online Mock Tests

What Is The JEE Mains Exam?

The Joint Entrance Examination Mains (JEE Main) is an all-India level engineering entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Authority (NTA) for admission to undergraduate engineering programs in IITs and NITs.

The JEE Main exam is a computer-based test that has three sections - Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The mathematics section consists of questions from the topics of Algebra, Geometry, Arithmetic and Data Interpretation. The Physics section covers topics like Electricity and Magnetism, Mechanics, Modern Physics and Thermodynamics. And lastly, the Chemistry section covers topics like Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry and Chemical Reactions.

Why Are Mock Tests Essential During Your JEE Mains Preparation?

One of the most important aspects of preparation for JEE Mains is to practice mock tests. These tests are essential because they help you gauge your strengths and weaknesses in each subject, which will help you focus on areas that need improvement. Mock tests also give you an idea about the time management skills that you need to have during exam days. They also allow you to get used to the exam environment, which can be helpful during the actual exam day. Mock tests are also a great way to assess your progress. You can use them to see how much you have learned since your last test, or how much you need to improve before taking the real test. Mock tests are also a good way to get feedback on what you are doing wrong and what needs more work.

The best way to prepare for JEE Mains is by practicing as many mock tests as possible, as it will give you a better understanding of your strengths and weaknesses in different subjects and help you develop strategies for tackling them during the actual exam day.

Mock Test Taking Strategies for The JEE Mains Exam

1.      Make A Mock Test Plan: It's important to plan because you'll be able to prepare better for the exam. Create a timetable / plan for daily or weekly mock tests (for e.g., 5-chapter wise mock tests per week and 1 full length mock test per month) and ramp it up as you approach the exam

2.      Continuously Monitor Your Performance: Performance monitoring is important while giving mock tests because it helps create a more accurate assessment of the candidate’s skills and knowledge. Performance monitoring should be done to make sure that the assessment is as fair as possible. It also helps to identify any gaps in the knowledge of the candidate. This will help you identify where they need more training, what they are struggling with and how to improve their performance.

3.      Take Breaks In Your Mock Test Routine: Do not overburden yourself with weekly / daily tests. Take a few days off from your schedule to reflect on your preparation journey and give adequate time to concept revision as well

4.      Benchmark Your Performance with Peers: Make a study group and track how you are performing as compared to them. Healthy competition will keep you motivated

5.      Don’t Neglect Revision & Studying Key Concepts: While giving mock tests is important, students should not purely focus on them to crack the JEE Mains exam. Revision is a necessary part of learning. It helps you to check your work and make sure you are on the right track. Your brain’s ability to absorb and retain knowledge also impacts your test taking skills (the brain is a muscle which keeps getting stronger with different types of stimuli)

6.      Train Your Brain To Be Most Active During The Actual Timing Of The Exam: By consistently activating your brain at the time when you will be giving the actual exam, you will be able to be better prepared than most aspirants. For e.g., if you are going to give the JEE exam in the morning slot (10:00 AM - 1:00 PM) train your brain to be giving tests at that time by modifying your sleep schedule, test taking times etc.

What Are Reward Based Mock Tests?

In a reward based mock test, students are rewarded with points for each correct answer and penalized for wrong answers. This motivates them to study more and try their best because they want to earn as many points as possible.

Gamification is a way of using game design elements in non-game contexts to make them more engaging, motivating, and fun. It is widely used in the education sector to foster engagement with students and help them learn more effectively. The use of gamification in education has been seen as a powerful tool for teaching and learning. The benefits of gamification are numerous, including increased student motivation and engagement, improved performance on tasks, increased creativity, enhanced collaboration skills and teamwork abilities.

Rewards are a powerful motivator for students, but they can also be a distraction. They may not always help students learn better. Studies show that rewards have the potential to improve student performance on academic tasks. But when rewards are used as a motivational tool, they can distract from the learning process and lead to a decline in long-term motivation levels.
